New York Studio

I was so excited when I came across this pretty studio apartment in Manhattan designed by Paul Davis. It's loaded with all of my favourite things; custom built-ins, a grey/white/black palette, marble and even a wood burning fireplace. I could definitely move right in!

Kitchen Renovation

It has been ages and ages since I've done a Small Space Style post so I thought it was about time!

For this installment I have a kitchen renovation in a 300 square foot West Village apartment owned by Jennifer Pade. Jennifer has a diary of the complete renovation with everything from design inspiration, budget and dealing with NY co-op boards on Apartment Therapy.

I can not believe my eyes! The before photos show a crumbling kitchen with ancient appliances, almost no counter space and not even one drawer.

The final results are amazing! Jennifer used Ikea cabinets and was able to incorporate ample storage, a GE speed oven and even a dishwasher in a drawer all in a space about 8x6!

Teeny Tiny Apartment

This week I have a 375 square foot San Francisco apartment to share with you. (Yes..375 sf...that was not a typo!!) This tiny gem of a home belongs to Caitlin Flemming from the blog Sacramento Street. I just love this little place! Caitlin and her husband were able to transform the apartment from drab to bright and fresh by painting the entire place in a very pale grey/blue colour that opens up the small rooms and visually expands the space. They were also lucky to find an apartment with ample built-ins in the dining area that provide storage and architectural interest as well as his and her walk-in closets.

Enjoy the tour!

Small Space Style

Today's small space belongs to interior designer Melanie Coddington from Coddington Design.
In comparison to most of the spaces I feature here, it's big, at 1000 square feet.
It's light and girly, and has a good mix of traditional, modern and vintage furniture.
One of the things I love is the honeycomb pattern wallpaper in the living room. I have seen this paper in person and it is much prettier than it appears in the photo. It is a subtle tone on tone with the pattern being made from tiny encrusted beads. It would be perfect for a feature wall behind a bed or for a powder room.

Here are a few other rooms from Coddington Design...

Have a great weekend everyone! :)

Tiny London Kitchen Renovation

It has been ages and ages since I have done a post on...
I found this kitchen before and after over on Design Sponge and fell in love with it for it's tiny proportions and because it has my favourite and black and white colour combination.
The tiny alcove kitchen gets a fun and frugal makeover and gains tons of character, more storage and new appliances.
The dated avocado cupboards are switched out for gorgeous black lacquered door fronts and the dingy floor and wall tiles are replaced with classic white and black tiles.

The kitchen in this 1930's flat had last been renovated in the 1960's.
