Bright Birthday Brunch

I already linked to this birthday table design on my Friday's post, but I love it so much I though I would show you a few more photos. This fun and colourful table is designed by the very talented Nashville designer Jen Sohr.
Jen is a master at mixing vintage finds with new items and artfully layering multiply patterns. The table is so cheery and bright with pops of red, pink and yellow all placed on a base of leftover kraft paper wallpaper.

I think the grocery store flowers and the ingenious use of wallpaper for a runner are my favourite parts.

Use tape to personalize paper straws to use as place cards.

Photos from here and here.

Hope everyone is having a bright and cheerful day!

Valentine's Day

 A few Valentine's Day Ideas...

These tiny stuffed hearts are fun and easy to make. Wouldn't they look cute strung on along wool or silk ribbon. Use them as mini bunting or tie a few to your Valentine's packages. For the full instructions check out the Purl Bee blog.

Another cute idea is to make sets of these book plates, package them in cellophane bags and tie with a ribbon. I think they make great teachers gifts. They are easy and inexpensive. Check out the free download on the Poppy Talk blog.

This is a brilliant idea, especially if you need many center pieces on a tight budget. Love them scattered down the centre of the table. I would also use these for other occasions too or cluster a few on a mantle. Check out Shannon Berrey's blog for full instructions and other great ideas.
