Love of the Week

Simple Holiday Decorating

For this week I have collected a few images of simple holiday decor to get you thinking about how you will be decorating your own homes this Christmas. I really love how each idea is easy to replicate and is relatively inexpensive, but does not lack impact. These ideas translate well from table to mantle or would even look amazing on a buffet or console.

I have lanterns like this that I use outside in the summer; should think about bringing them in.

Christmas balls in any type of glass vase is super easy.

I love this! So incredibly simple, but when done in multiples along a mantle or table it would be very modern and understated.

Would never of thought to use tulips but it definitely works especially if you want to stay away from the typical red and green.

A easy center piece that won't block your diners views. Use non-traditional colours or pick balls to match your linens or china.

A little bit country! Cranberries look so pretty floating in water.

I wouldn't say this last one is simple because those carnation balls would take a bit of effort, but wouldn't this be pretty for Christmas dinner or done in all white with gold accents for New Year's Eve?

Have a wonderful weekend everyone.

Stockings

This week I visited Staci at her Switch Studio in Oakville where she is making these amazing Christmas stockings.

I love the mix of the traditional shape and white fur trim with the more graphic and modern fabric. They are reasonably priced at $30 and are handmade in Canada.
I purchased a few in a mix of colours and patterns; deciding which ones I wanted was really difficult! My original plan was to add a bottle of wine or a bag of my homemade biscotti and use them as hostess gifts
(I like having a supply of ready made gifts on hand during the holidays.)

Hmmm, now I am thinking I might have to retire my old stockings and hang these from the mantle for something a little more modern and fresh!
