Checkin' In

This little blog has been suffering from major neglect; the cob webs are thick and the only sound I hear is silence. I hope all of my readers (assuming there are any left) are having a good summer. I have been away for the last two weeks visiting friends in Connecticut and then taking a last minute trip to Washington. (During the worst heat wave, EVER!)
Here's a peek into what I have been up to...

Playing around with the new photo app Rhonna Designs. A fun and easy way to add words to photos. Try it, you will like it!

Still loving Instagram. You can follow me at: theroomtoronto.

Having fun at Mood Fabrics in Manhattan. So many beautiful choices.

My friend bought this original painting from a street artist in NYC for $350.00-deal of the century! It is really gorgeous in person, with touches of metallic gold and silver.
We were so excited about this purchase we celebrated with a cocktail!

Her pretty Connecticut garden and the world's friendliest dog, Chase.

And then it was off to Washington...

My favourite building in DC; The national Portrait Gallery. The atrium is definitely worth visiting. Notice the dark area on the floor-that's a very thin layer of water that you can walk through.

The Smithsonian Museum of American History was awesome.
I loved seeing Julia Child's kitchen.

Do you remember Golden Books?  Really enjoy this little exhibit at the Smithsonian.

Michelle Obama's Inaugural dress.

The Canadian Embassy.

Delicious snacks in the Blue Duck Bar at the Park Hyatt.
Caesar salad, apple pie with homemade vanilla ice cream and rhubarb strawberry crumble.

What have you all been up to?
